When I got the news that Adidas Eye Wear was coming on board as a sponsor for 2011 the first thing I thought was "This is great! I might get to shoot with Geoff Gulevich". After a few phone calls my thought became a reality and we were booked to shoot over May long weekend. I had worked with Gully in the past while riding for various photo and film shoots, but never with him in front of my lens. This proved to be a totally different experience altogether.

I arrived at Geoff's home in North Vancouver on a Thursday evening where we planned out the rest of the weekend. Gully decided on the following:

Day 1. Shoot in Squamish

Day 2. Par take in the Troller to the Raven (annual pub crawl)

Day 3. Shoot on Cypress Mountain, and hit the local Dirt Jumps.

Even though the weather was supposed to be clear and sunny, the usual Vancouver rain rolled in over night and almost squashed our first day. We ended up heading to Squamish late, but after bagging up the camera, and hiking the trails the rain slowed and we were ready to shoot. We got some really nice shots in the foggy forest, and Gully was calling angles to shoot from that turned out great.

Day 2 was the Troller to the Raven pub crawl. This was a 40km cruise on our bikes with 30 people all the way through North Vancouver. Needless to say we took over the streets for one afternoon and we were unstoppable. If the day read as a newspaper headline it would say "3 Hospital Trips, 1 Person Grazed by Van, and 2 Malls used as Bikes Lanes During Local Pub Crawl". If you want to get a little taste of the annual pub crawl head over to www.lonewolfproductions.ca for a bonus video dedicated to the Troller to the Raven.

After a bit of time in the morning to recoup we made our way to Cypress Mountain to shoot Gully's favorite DH trail. Geoff and his friends had been holding locals only races down this trail so he was shredding. www.lonewolfproductions.ca has a full top to bottom video of Geoff riding the DH course if you would like to check that out as well. After walking the trail top to bottom and getting all the shots Gully wanted we moved over to his dirt jumps where he showed us that he is not only a freeride guy but can also shred on a little bike as well. After a quick session Gully had already gotten the shots he wanted and we wrapped up. From there we parted ways, as Geoff was getting ready to head to France for the FISE competition.

I would like to thank Geoff and Adidas Eyewear for fitting Lone Wolf Productions into their busy schedules and for bringing all of you this awesome video! Don't forget to follow our twitter @lonewolfteam, and our facebook fan page.

Regardless of production companies having agreements, promoting Manitou with a sponsored Marzocchi athlete in the vid is not only misleading but will cause issues for the rider. My $0.02.

Solution is easy Coach...you can start to pay for the quality videos produced by professionals like Lonewolf yourself. Just send Matt your bank account information. Its easy.

Or, you can be happy with rinky-dink web-edits from 16 year old's bedrooms.

Until you guys try your hands at fund raising and producing something worth watching...I suggest you try to be happy with the fact that there are guys like the folks at Lonewolf out there busting their asses to make it happen for you.

Just my 2 cents.

I've always had a huge amount of respect for gully, even watching his segments in the early digger movies he was shredding it. and he's got even more flow now. plus it's cool to see super fun looking trails like that ridden by a rider who can rail the sh*t out of them.

 gully = good guy!

got to meet Gully on his first trip outside of Canada, to the UK with Wade Simmons

they turned up at the old Esher Shore bike park in Surrey, England and they were a "little" surprised to see a timber based bike park miles from home

has nothing to do with either manitou or zocchi, it's an adidas eye wear section. says it right at the start of the video. All the bike films do the same thing. NWD is a kona film but i seem to remember a ton of riders on other bikes because they rode for oakley, or another sponsor of the film.

truth^ regardless he's an adidas athlete, witch the video starts by stating that, doesn't matter what he's riding to what the production is supported by, its about the eyewear..

dazem, I build quite a bit and I agree with them too. I'll bet you that if you threw a shovel at a real builder for saying that, they'd probably catch it and beat your a$$ with that same shovel.

If you don't dig, just learn to show a minimum of respect to the place and the people that created it.

I live to build, and build to ride. Everyone who knows me, knows that is my way.
You aint trail building if you are using a machine of some sort, imported timber, imported hard core etc.
Soil, rock, passion and creativity are where it is at for me.

Betsie -I would If I could....let me set this record straight. The Jumps in the Video said no dig no ride, officially sanctioned Volunteer multiuse trailbuilding Does NOT genererally create dirtjumps of that nature. Its usually a one or two hardcores who pour the sweat and blood to make it happen. Most of the damage at my jumps is actually caused by RIDERS with the MINIMUM of respect, If you happen to stumble across someones site uninvited, -The last thing you should do is have the sence of entitlement to ride. WTF gives you the right to come CASE the shit out of someone else's spot whlile you SAMPLE THEIR SWEAT AND BLOOD. DIRT JUMPS ARE NOT SINGLETRACK and their sure as hell not multi use. Riding dirtjumps causes much wear and tear under the best conditions, when some random who has no Idea decides to test his metal on your dirt, and crank cases every landing, ruts up every berm, they can shove their minimum of respect up their Ash. A minimum of respect would have you out there digging, NOT BITCHING Cause it sais NO DIG NO RIDE when you straight up just dont belong,

Catch that shovel, I dare you! Try me! I`m down for a shovel off any day of the week.

Riders damaging things is not what hacks me off the most, but litter.
One of my Dh tracks http://www.pinkbike.com/video/128043/ (Gi60)
You are right Dirt Jumps are not single track, we have a full pump track that gets a hammering all the time. No matter how well you build people still trash things with bad riding, tyre choice etc. and they don't tend to fix what they wreck.

Maybe Im just a greasy jerk bastard, but as far as jumps go, I see more benefit in time spent building new ones than I do fixing the ones people have trashed, People find time to come trash your spot cause their not busy building their own. I`m not exactly the only one who supports No Dig -No ride at someones jump stash, minimum respect is dig or gtfo, anyone who`s feelings get hurt by no dig no ride, needs to know they are not special, if your going to thrash someone else`s work, and not put in your are a self entitled parasite scumbag.

flag dingo-dave (Jun 28, 2011 at 9:20)
Funny to see builders arguing over stupidity like that....

I've been digging at a jump spot not too far from where I live for the better part of 5 years now and I have to say that what irks me the most isn't the casing and riding without ever lifting a shovel. It's the people who carry in a bunch of garbage in and then leave it behind wherever the f@#k they happen to be standing when they finish their candy bar or can of pop. It's the ass monkeys who light bonfires in dry, grassy fields and sometimes even have the gall to throw in good lumber and carpets when technically we're not even supposed to be in that field building jumps and trails. Or the tards who have the nerve to say the jumps and pumptrack suck, but don't do s#!t when I'm there digging with no bike in sight. And the worst are those numbnuts who see the sign we put up explaining basic etiquette such as "No dig, no ride", and then take it upon themselves to modify a line or jump to better suit them when that jump's been there and enjoyed by many longer than they've known about the spot.

I went out last night to ride a bit and dig on the new pumptrack I've been building (entirely on my own) only to find that somebody had decided it would be a good idea to take out one of the rollers leading into the track and one of them jumps, and use the dirt from that roller to widen the landing for one of the smaller jumps there instead of finding their own dirt. Not only that, but they had also dug on good jumps to fill in the gaps on the smallest jumps there.

That's what I meant when I said they only need to show a minimum of respect to ride where I dig.

@dingo-dave iagree with what your saying. the exact same thing happened to me at a spot where me and my buddies built we told this kid that he could ride there as long as he didnt mess with the jump there was even a sign. Then next day i show up and find that he not only built a PUSSY jump on the run-in and scrapped the roller flat for some stupid f*cking reason, he also dug some stupid hole right after the lip . like ride there just dont f*ck with it!!!
