Matt Brooks gets in front of the camera this time around and flows some trails our way in this Lone Wolf edit, check it!
This is my first of two sections that I will be filming this season. Shooting for this section was a strange experience as I have been on the back side of the lense for most of the season. Sure I have been riding as much as I can, but when you are riding for the camera it's a different experience. Suddenly all of the work you have been doing digging and scoping new lines comes to a close and it's time to ride. All of the hours building come down to a few seconds of riding and a camera man.

Luckily this section went down with little to no problems thanks to the help of Kaleb Torozzo of TNL photography. Kaleb has been shooting photos for Lone Wolf all season, but decided to try his hand at video in order to help me out. Believe it or not this was his first experience with shooting any kind of video, and at the end of everyday I was amazed when I went through the footage. Let us know how you think this first time videographer did in the comments below. Luckily there is a second part to TNL: Jim Lucas who shot a majority of the photos you see in the article, and did a masterful job. Believe it or not Kaleb even managed to snap the shutter a few times and capture a few images too.
The idea behind this
Spank Industries section was not to have a segment with the craziest tricks, or even the largest stunts, but to create something that was visually pleasing and would hopefully make people want to ride their bikes after watching it. I feel I'm known for being the guy who always goes big, so I wanted to focus on a few other things I think I also do well on a bike like my trail riding, and style, saving the big stuff for my last section of the year. It was a lot of fun woking with a photographer as they often see angles that I don't and vise-versa.

We shot the majority of this section in the Kamloops area as well as a few shots from Whistler of my first day on my new bike. All of the trail shots were from a trail area called Harper mountain which has been shot over and over again, Yet, just when we seem to think it's all been done it seems like another section of trail catches my eye. You may also recognize one of the lines from Mike Kinrade's Lone Wolf section. I call it the Tri Line. It features a single track trail on a ridge rolling to a step down, into a steep section that leads to an uphill berm and ends in a big hip. I had built this line last year and was waiting for the soil to pack in enough to ride it. Mike did an awsome job with it but I just couldn't stay off of it, thus it ended up in my segment. We also revisited an old area where local shredder Dylan Sherrard had been building quite some time ago. The area has a hip road gap as well as a cool step up. After some rebuilding we decided that they both looked cool and that we should finally give these relics some attention. Thanks to Dylan for originally putting his shovel to dirt in this zone. The rest of the section is simply things we saw along the way that we thought looked cool, had great light on them at the time, or had a great backdrop. I hope you all enjoyed my section, and if so, there is still more to come.
